Had I Been

Had I been the mother of
Rebecca, kind and fair,
Would I have been inclined to send
Her off to who-knows-where?

If I had known the tension that
Her family would face,
I surely would have asked that she
Stay longer than ten days.

I’d wish that my will would be done
To spare my child from pain,
But would I have foreseen the cost–
Her life lived out in vain?

See Genesis 24. Inspired by a poem by Ruth Graham Bell.

The Next Generation (Re-posted As a Weekly Post)

Encourage the children and pray for the young
That they would surrender to live for Yah’s Son
That always the gospel would pour from their tongue
As all of Yah’s people are gathered as one!

Embolden the little and strengthen the youth!
We have a great Sovereign whose coming is soon
May this generation exclaim, “Praise is due
For we were seen worthy to suffer for You.”

Corresponds to Genesis 18: 19

One Petition

If one petition I could make
‘Tis not for wealth or fame I ask
You did great things in years gone by
I ask that You complete Your task

O Master, I do not deserve
The least of all Your kindness shown
But if I must request for aught
O Master, bring my brother home

If three petitions I could ask
My mortal tongue would humbly say
“Let those entrapped in darkness’s snare
Be made to see Your perfect way.”

Master, I do not desire
A wealth of silver or of gold
But let the ones who seek Your face
Continue so ’til they are old

My Legacy is Blue

Because of death, I never met
The grandpa of my dad
But he passed on a heritage
A gift that I now have

His kindness and his gentleness
His love for God and man
Prepared the way for us this day
To rise in faith and stand

I see his picture on the wall
His smile and bright blue eyes
His godliness and brilliant eyes
Are in my thoughts entwined

My daddy has those bright blue eyes
And now, I have them too
I see my eyes and think of his life
My legacy is blue

Williamshire Coat of Arms

EPSON MFP image

________________________________________________

This is the coat of arms that I invented for “Williamshire” (our house). The motto (written above) says in Hebrew, “But as for me and my house, we will serve Yehovah.” The scroll and letters on it symbolize Yeshua and Yah’s Word.

This was made with Crayola markers and colored pencils.
